Friday 29th April

This week has been another busy and exciting week in class 3. We have been acting out scenes from the play, James and the Giant Peach, working hard to improve our presentation, completing time challenges in our Maths lessons and creating plant experiments in our Science lessons.

Spelling patterns we have been learning the last few weeks have been: ed and ing at the end of words, soft c (sounds like a s) and silent letters.

English- Read the information about the illustrator Quentin Blake and then complete the challenge at the bottom of the sheet. (Using the characters in the book to create a mural.)
Maths- In maths this week we have been learning to tell the time. This week I would like you to complete the time word problems you have been given.

Saturday 23 April 2016

This week in Class 3 we have been very busy. We have entered some of our artwork into an exhibition at Halesworth Gallery. You can go and visit our beautiful New Zealand landscapes between 23rd April-27th April at the gallery.

We have worked hard to develop our time skills in our Maths lessons. In our English and topic lessons we have managed to reach chapter 7 in 'James and the Giant Peach' and we have been practicing our throwing skills ready for rounders in our P.E lessons.

Our class have also started our 'Food for Thought' Adnams project with Mr Rollings. We can't wait to see what we can grow!

On Thursday, we were lucky enough to go to the Country Fair held at Trinity Park. There we got to touch animals, try different foods and ride on tractors. Below are some of the pictures of our week.

Well done on a fantastic week!

Maths- This week’s home learning will be on active maths. I have allocated some time games for you to have a go at. If you are unable to access the internet at home or you are struggling to log on then you can come to my lunch time club on Tuesday to complete your work and collect your coins from the levels you complete.

English- Unfortunately Miss Dekker was unable to come on the Class 3 trip to the Country Fair, so for home learning this week I would like you to write a small piece to tell me all about it. You can add pictures to illustrate what you saw while you were there.

Friday 15th April
Maths- This week we have been solving word problems. On your worksheet you have a mixture of different types of question (+, -, ÷ and x.) Have a go at working out as many of them as possible in your book. Don’t worry if you can’t do all of them as word problems are tricky and we will continue to practice them in class. Please ask before Thursday if you need some help from me.
English- Choose 5 words you know you struggle how to spell. Sometimes spellings are easier to remember when they have a rhyme attached to them. Can you make up your own rhyme for your 5 words? E.g. because-big, elephants, can’t, always, use, small, exits.
