Friday 8th November

Today we went into the hall and set up several columns, using cones, with all of the children standing in the large centre column for a start.
We had lots of printed off and scrunch up bits of paper with x10, x100, ÷10 or ÷100 on. We picked some volunteers to throw these at the children in the columns. Depending on what the children got hit by, they either had to move up two or one (x100 and x10) columns or down two or one columns (÷100 or ÷10). When the children got hit, they had to ‘un-scrunch’ the paper to see what it was asking them to do.
The children in the columns were aiming to make it as far up the columns as they could while the children throwing the scrunched pieces of paper were trying to keep them down the bottom. If any child made to the very top column they were a winner and if they made it to the very bottom column they were out of that round.
