Friday 1st November

In our science lesson this week, for a start we discussed the question ‘What makes a living thing?’ The picture below shows the main responses to this question from the class.

We then moved onto an activity where, in pairs, we were given the 7 characteristics of a living thing, and descriptions of those characteristics, all chopped up. It was our job to match the characteristics to their descriptions and also try to order them so that, as Mr Balls said, ‘The first letters of each characteristic in the correct order, spell out a lady’s name.’ Once we’d had a go at this in our pairs, Mr Balls revealed the answers and that the lady’s name was MRS NERG (Movement, Reproduction, Sensitivity, Nutrition, Excrete, Respiration and Growth).
